Standing Orders Regulating the Meeting of The Synod

The Bishop shall appoint the following:

  • A Committee on Resolutions
  • A Committee to read, correct, and approve the Minutes.

Standing Orders regulating the conduct of the Committee on Resolution:

  1. No motion shall be made except upon notice thereof, save where otherwise provided for by these rules.
  2. Except where the time of giving notice of motion is expressly limited, notice to motion may be given at any time and shall (a) be in writing sent by the mover (b) state the actual terms of the motion to be submitted to the Synod and, (c) be sent or handed to the Secretary by whom it shall be read.
  3. No motion shall be debated until it has been seconded. Any member may second without prejudice to his/her right to speak in the debate.
  4. No motion, when seconded, may be withdrawn without the leave of the Synod.
  5. No motion involving the question of finance or expenditure in excess of any sum appearing in the estimate shall be made except upon notice given not less than four weeks before the Synod meets.
